HOPE GALA SPONSORSHIP

For over 30 years Sonshine Community Services has been offering healing and hope to women and children impacted by domestic violence. Our one-year residential and counseling program the Sonshine Centre is one of the largest long term womens’ shelters in the province, and shelters over 90 women and children each year. It is the only service of its kind in Calgary offering a full year program.

Sonshine Community Services is a community supported organization. We rely on the generosity of groups, businesses, and individuals in our community to continue offering quality services to those in need. One of our major fundraising initiatives is our annual Hope Gala, which last year raised approximately $73,000 for the Sonshine Centre. 2009 event sponsors included ConocoPhillips, Nexen Inc., Crescent Point Energy, Investors Group, and Integrity Wealth Group.

The 2010 Hope Gala is scheduled for November 18, 2010 at the Coast Plaza Hotel. The event will consist of live music and entertainment, a banquet, and a silent and live auction. Our master of ceremonies will be CTV’s Darrel Janz, and our keynote speaker will be Canadian journalist Lawrence Scanlan, author of A Year of Living Generously: Dispatches from the Front Lines of Philanthropy. Expected attendance is 230 philanthropic-minded business professionals.
